HOW YOU CAN HELP > BECOME A FOSTER HOME The single most rewarding thing you will ever do in rescue is help an animal find a permanent, loving home. ARF SEPA foster families are crucial to our mission, because these fantastic families give up space in their home to house pets, provide socialization and training, and teach pets to trust humans once again. ARF SEPA relies on a network of foster families to house animals versus operating a traditional shelter building. This is less stressful for the pets since they don’t live in a cage, and it also helps foster families get to know each pet’s personality and result in better matches with prospective adopters. All veterinary care for ARF SEPA foster pets is paid for directly by ARF SEPA. We utilize a network of participating veterinarians to coordinate care. Foster families provide food, toys, litter (for cats), shelter and love. Foster families can also choose to serve as adoption counselors if they wish, and we’d recommend this because it allows foster families to choose the home that adopts their foster pet. The heartfelt thanks you get from adoptive families in e-mails, phone calls, and letters makes it all worth it and then some.
