Pet Lovers Eat Dinner to Save Lives
Local business and nonprofit group team up to save homeless pets

(MEDIA) January 16, 2006 – Delaware County residents can grab some dinner Wednesday night and help homeless pets at the same time.

The Animal Rescue Foundation of SE PA, Inc. (ARF), and Baja Fresh-Springfield are teaming up on January 18th to raise funds and help homeless pets find homes.  The event runs from 4pm until 9pm.  Baja Fresh is donating 15% of each dinner bill to ARF when customers present either a flyer or news article discussing the event.

Baja Fresh-Springfield is located at the corner of Route 320 and Baltimore Pike, in the Olde Sproul Shopping Center.  ARF volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about adoption.

“Our volunteers rescue pets directly from public shelters that must euthanize when full,” says ARF volunteer Nicole Saunders.  “Rescued cats, dogs and rabbits receive complete veterinary care, paid for by ARF.  All pets get to live with a foster family until adopted into a loving home – as long as that takes.”

ARF is all-volunteer and utilizes a network of foster homes to house pets instead of operating a traditional shelter.  “All funds raised go directly to pay for veterinary care and promote adoption for homeless pets,” says Saunders.

The Animal Rescue Foundation of SE PA, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated solely to the welfare of homeless and at-risk pets.  For more information or to download an event flyer, interested parties can visit www.bajafresh.com or call ARF at (610)994-4300.
