Animal Rescue Foundation of SE PA Celebrates 200th Rescue!
Nonprofit group has saved more than 200 pets from shelters in five months
(MEDIA) June 22, 2006 –Volunteers for Animal Rescue Foundation of Southeastern Pennsylvania (ARF) celebrated their 200th rescued pet at their June meeting. ARF rescues homeless cats and dogs from area public shelters that must euthanize when full.
“Since our first meeting in late January, we have worked very hard to find homes for as many orphaned pets as possible,” says ARF volunteer Liz Black. “All our rescued pets reside with a foster family in a home until adopted – as long as that takes.”
ARF is equally devoted to saving the lives of both cats and dogs from area shelters. ARF does not discriminate based on breed, age or health. All rescued pets receive complete veterinary care, including exam, testing, vaccinations, spay/neuter and any other needed medications or surgeries – all paid for in full by ARF.
“We spend thousands every month to get rescued pets complete vet care, even surgeries if needed,” according to ARF volunteer Halla Baker. “We do whatever it takes to help a pet get healthy and find a permanent, loving home.”
Animal Rescue Foundation of SE PA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies solely on public support to achieve its goals. Interested parties can learn more about ARF and meet adoptable pets by visiting ARF’s web site at www.arfsepa.com or calling (610)994-4300.
